The Heart of Detroit

Dan and I are officially moved in and living in Midtown!  We’ve got a cozy little apartment and we’re walking distance from lots of really awesome, fun things to do.  I went to my graduate school orientation yesterday, my internship kicked off last weekend, and classes start in less than a week!  Life is really kicking into gear, whether I’m ready for it or not.

We tried to take some time out of our seemingly endless days of unpacking and buying stuff for the apartment to explore a bit around our new neck of the woods. I went to the Detroit Institute of Art last week with a friend, Dan has gotten his foot in the door with the faculty and staff in his department, and we’ve managed to try a few restaurants on campus.

In general, I think I’m really going to like it here.  I already feel so relaxed and free walking around the concrete jungle. Of course, I miss all of my friends that are starting things back up in Mt. Pleasant as we speak.  But, I’m excited for this new life and for this opportunity to explore lots of new things over the next two years.

I can’t wait to get back in the habit of blogging and taking photos. You’ll hear more from me very soon.. I’m sure of it.
